hey,

your a great candidate....bc every person applying to hopkins are going to be at the top of the top...you have to somehow stand out....make sure your essays and recs say alot about you....otherwise you look good...

tnx a lot^^

Idk, u r asian...which means u r prolly gonna be judged w. harsher criterias...especially if u r a guy who wants to do engineering....otherwise...Id say u have a good shot

^ I was under the impression that Hopkins didn't consider at your intended course of study, based on other threads. If that is true, gogoomaparis, you will probably be facing tough competition just because so many intl. applicants (esp. the asian ones, though i don't intend to upset anybody with this statement) are talented beyond belief, but don't get me wrong, you seem talented as well. hopefully hopkins is as holistic as everybody claims it is (my app is riding on this holistic view as well, lol) .. beef up your essays about why you're different... easier said than done, i know. but other than that, good luck

Yo fj, are you Bengali?

haha yeah, are you?

just to clarify, what aminaest wrote is not true...questions of race, gender, and major will not negatively (or positively) impact you in a direct way.

each applicant is reviewed individually and holistically -- look at the ED results - asian, male, engineering students were not judged harsher than their counterparts.

don't assume everything you hear is true about the admissions process.

i have very similar stats, but im a female who wants to do engineering? would this make my chance greater?

Thanks alot for the reply everyone^^.

Yup, nice to meet a fellow bengali :)

questions of race, gender, and major will not negatively (or positively) impact you in a direct way

didnt kno that.... well then.
that completely contradicts everything i've ever heard, said, etc. but if an adcom said it, it has to be rite.
