My Chances

I attempted posting this in the "My Chances" sub-forum, but it got lost with all of the other topics. Please excuse me for posting this here.

GPA: 4.0 UW ; 4.4 W
SAT: 620 W, 700 M, 690 CR (1390 M + CR)

Some good teacher recommendations.

ECs: 100 hours of community service; 100 hours of church service; 2 years of Varsity basketball; 3 years of club table tennis (team captain); took a summer chemistry course at William and Mary

Awards: Timothy Award Winner; Jericho National Society; National Latin Exam gold medalist

Also, I'm an instate male - if that makes a difference.

Also, would applying early decision increase my chances of getting accepted?

Assuming that 4.0 really means all As (and your school is not one of those on a 6 point scale and you had all Cs  ), then you would be competitive and it comes down to the essay. But that is true for the vast majority of the applicants. In-state male gives you an edge as would early decision.

Thank you for your response, Tjmom. And yes, my school is based on a 4.0 GPA. Therefore I have maintained straight A’s through high school.

I think you are in good shape for W&M as an in-state male, who has attended summer camp there, whether or not you apply ED.

Any more opinions?

How did you do in the summer chemistry course?
You have a good shot of getting in. If you know that’s where you want to go apply ED.

any last opinions?
