Rank: 20 / 400 at very competitive HS
G.P.A. (w) 4.8
G.P.A. (uw) 3.9

A.P. Exams:

BC Calculus: 5

Physics: 5
Environmental Science: 4

Average extracurriculars/recommendations/essays...

What do you think my chances are?

hmm.. if your ec's are truly just average, you have an average chance given your sat's are not very competitive either

"hmm.. if your ec's are truly just average, you have an average chance given your sat's are not very competitive either"

Wow. Okay.

Haftred, ignore the latter part of BingCold's reply. Your SAT's are very competitive, and they throw you right into a range with other Hopkins candidates.

Your stats look stellar. This gets your foot in the door. But if your character isn't painted as a whole to the adcom, your chances are likely to drop.

They are looking for passion and individuality. If you've shown this, then don't worry. Good luck.

uhh...his sat's are not very competitive?
he has a 1500 M/V combined score and a 2120 including writing. Sure it's not phenomenal...but not competitive? give me a break.

Your stats look like they're in range, but ECs and essays are important....

i think you have an okay chance only becasue your ec's and stuff are average. shouldve done more to make it stand out

im not saying his sats are too low, im saying compared to other applicants to jhu, his score is only average, hence not too competitive

his sat I may be average, but not his sat II. gj on those.
Spanish 720??? thats tough. gj again.

u have the stats i think u have a great shot.
dont dwell on the should have could have. its too late now and its up to adcoms. apply and hope for the best

For the C/O '09:

SAT I Verbal Score Middle 50% (enrolled students) 630-740
SAT I Math Score Middle 50% (enrolled students) 660-760

... SATs alone won't get anyone into college. However, his SATs are very competitive for JHU.
