I am really worried about the college results.
I have applied in Yale for Astronomy and Astrophysics.

School CGPA - 9.6/10 weighted
SAT 1 : 1910 M:770 CR:550 W:590
SAT 2 : P: 730 M:730

Indian

I have 160 celestial object discoveries. Have won many laurels for the nation and school.
I have more than 10 ECs. I have designed space elevator system and space debris mitigation project which is going to be executed in collaboration with ISRO.

Can someone tell me about my chances at these universities ?

In my opinion, you have chance. And, do you mean you are ethnically Indian, or do you currently reside in India? Being an Indian resident means you will have to compete in one of the most competitive pools.

You need to the best from your school (at LEAST in the top 10%). I’m not sure you are, especially after looking at your GPA (I’m not sure how it is done in India?).

Your extracurricular activities, on the other hand, are appear to be excellent.

Every student who is admitted to Yale, regardless of intended major, must be proficient in English. Truthfully, your Critical Reading and Writing scores indicate that you might have trouble doing so competitively.

If you are not a native English speaker and you haven’t received at least two years of secondary education in an English-medium curriculum, Yale strongly recommends that you take any one of the following tests for non-native English speakers.

TOEFL
The following minimum scores are required:

100 on the internet-based TOEFL
600 on the paper-based TOEFL
250 on the computer-based TOEFL

@Promania,
Chance threads are not at all helpful. We’re not Yale admissions staff, so we don’t know what they might be looking for this year.
Anyways, best of luck to us both as we aspire to become Yale Bulldogs!

At this point, you have as much of a chance as anyone with great academics and EC’s does…Yale is so selective that even for someone with your excellent stats, it’s always a gamble. Everything has been sent in, so at this point (and I know that this is the most unhelpful advice in the world) it’s just best not to think about it. It’s not going to help your chances and will only uselessly freak you out more. Try to stay away from these forums if it worries you.
Good luck with your applications, I hope everything goes well!!
