My colleges I'm applying to

JHU
Cornell
UChicago
WUSTL
Stanford
Notre Dame
Emory
Vanderbilt
Georgetown
Northwestern
UCBerkeley

What are some other great colleges that don't require subject tests (besides above)?

Your SAT is going to bring down your chances. What is your GPA?

Most of them are reaches

My GPA system in my school is out of 4.5
I currently have a 4.45

JHU - High Reach
Cornell - Reach
UChicago - High Reach
WUSTL - ???
Stanford - Out of Reach(No SAT IIs/Low SAT score)
Notre Dame - ???
Emory - ???
Vanderbilt - High Reach
Georgetown - ???
Northwestern - High Reach
UCBerkeley - Reach

Your SAT scores are a little low…but your ECs look solid!
I would also suggest that you take the subject tests!
Most colleges on there would fall in the range of low reach!
Best of Luck!

Would getting about 650s on my subject tests increase my chances? Because I don’t want it to backfire :(

Thanks Spirral, I hope Cornell is a reach <3

Anyway I’m assuming that high reach means it’s harder to get into than reach? New to this stuff haha.

Bump

My previous questions and more people? :(

Well top schools are expecting 700-750+ on subject tests.

You need matches and safeties…

High reach is pretty much equivalent to out of reach.

Yeah I’m also applying to UCLA, SMU, A&M, & UTD. Those are my safeties/matches.

The ones I listed in OP are my dream schools. Just wondering about my chances there.

might look at Holy Cross-top25 LAC with great pre-med program. HC has a very nice campus 1 hour from Boston. Holy Cross is a smaller version of ND BUT EASIER TO GET INTO. HC is also SAT optional.

UCLA would be a reach as well.

Good luck on your SAT IIs

Yeah I’m applying to so many colleges…dad’s ****ed I spent 600 bucks so far lol.

Will it significantly decrease my chances if I don’t take subject tests?

At schools that require them, yes - they’d likely reject you automatically for not meeting the minimum requirements.

None of those colleges require them :)

And yeah anyone else? An answer similar to Spirral’s answer? Lol.

EC’s are off the charts and the GPA is exactly where those type of schools want them. I would say notre same is high match and the rest low reaches because of the poor SAT scores. Your sat converts to roughly a 28 ACT composite which is in the lower 15-20% of all your listed school. I would definitely apply to some safeties

Wow pi$$ed is a bad word? Interesting…

Yeah I’m guaranteed automatic admission to UT, A&M, SMU, and UTD. I already got my UTD acceptance actually. Waiting for others.
Ok which of these colleges do I have a zero chance to? Cuz application fees are killing me :/

Bumpity Bump

Oh dear… you need to retake the SATs. If you’re a senior, register of the January SAT now and beg your schools to accept those scores. Your Math score is fine so if all your schools superscore, then focus on the CR and Writing. Also, why did you not take the SAT Subject Tests? None of those schools require them, but most recommend them. Sadly, your test scores hurt your chances.

Stanford: out of reach (sorry…)
Berkeley: low/mid-reach
Cornell: reach
WUSTL: reach (they put a lot of weight on SATs, unfortunately; however, your GPA saves you from an out-of-reach)
JHU: mid-reach
Vandy: low/mid-reach
G’town: reach
Chicago: tossup (they will absolutely LOVE your ECs and GPA… and they claim test scores are not that important. If you can write a great essay it may be a match.)
I personally dislike Notre Dame and Northwestern, so I don’t know a lot about their admissions process, but I would guess those are better matches. Unfortunately, to make it in our screwed-up culture of standardized testing requires you to either to aim lower or retake the SAT and study hard. I really, really wish the system didn’t work like that, since your grades and ECs are absolutely fantastic.

Chance me back? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1598603-please-chance-me-rice-uchicago-berkeley-brown-mit-purdue-washu-michigan.html

I’m going to take the subject tests!
I also added to my college list

Dartmouth
Duke
Brown
Columbia
Yale
Rice
Harvard
Princeton
UPenn
Wake Forest
Boston University

Honestly, you need safeties.
You’re applying mainly to reaches, and that’s not good at all. In my opinion, your extra curricular with memorization the Quran and the tutoring is something you should withhold from your application. If it means that much to you, then emphasize on it in your essays. Write about how much it means to you. Because from reading your extra curricular, it seems as if a lot of it is just inflation.

Good luck getting in with your SAT and lack of SAT IIs (don’t report them if they’re x<700).

And by the way, apply to other UCs if you’re interested in the system. You’re a match for UCSC, UCSD, and UCSB.
