My chances?

Ending my junior year and I calculated my “UGA gpa” to be 3.36 UW and 3.43 W. I know that’s below their average, but I feel like my ECs, SAT, and essays might make up for it. I’d like a second opinion or advice if anyone is willing

Current SAT score: 1970
(Math 580, Reading 670, Writing 720)
I’m taking it again in a couple of weeks and I’m hoping to get 2000+

Taking 2 SAT subject tests in the fall, (working to get 600+)
Spanish with listening
U.S. history

Rigor of curriculum: 2 APs by the end of junior year, taking 4 more next year for a total of 6.

Area I want to study / proclaimed major on application: Communications & PR

ECs:
4-year varsity sport (equestrian)
Varsity captain - 2 years
School Ambassador - 2 years

School newspaper Assistant Editor-in-Chief - senior
School newspaper opinions page editor - senior
School newspaper staff writer & PR manager - junior & senior
Sunday school teacher’s aid - 2 years
National Charity League (7-12 grade, lots of service)
Founded / organized Earth Day farmer’s market at my school - 2 years
Fluent in Spanish (English is my first language)

I’m planning on applying RD because I don’t think I’m competitive enough for EA, but also because writing is my strong suit and I think I can impress with the essays.

My teacher & counselor recommendations will be excellent.

I’m OOS at a private school in California.

Also, I’m going to the GSPA Georgia Journalism Academy @ UGA this summer. Hopefully that shows interest? This is my #1 school, by far. GO DAWGS!!!

Based off what I’ve read so far, I think you’ll be fine. Your SAT is good (I’m jealous!) and your ECs are really good. I think you’ll be fine for RD. Good luck!
