What are my chances in getting into a good school? I aspire to attend Brown University next year. I am Hispanic and my family earns 10k a year. I am unsure what my chances are, particularly due to my SAT scores.

Any feedback?

Have you looked into Questbridge? Brown is a partner university, so look into that program if you haven’t already.

Brown is a little high reach. If you get your SAT score up 200 points you will have a better shot!
Good luck! ((:

Have u tried the ACT?

@PartyNextDoor I am currently a College Prep Scholar with Questbridge. I am looking into their National College Match program.

@neuprospect98 Thanks :slight_smile:
@2016senior I haven’t tried it, I am planning to take it in September. Thanks.

@graphorrhea take a practice test and see how u do

I definitely agree with others when they say apply for Questbridge. That will open up so many doors for you if you are matched! From my knowledge (which i’m sure is limited) I have heard that Brown really values diversity (ethnic, socioeconomic, interesting story/background/voice etc.), possibly even more so than pier institutions. Their average SAT and ACT scores are slightly lower and their range slightly wider due to this. Work hard on your essays, and try out the ACT. You may do better on it, since it is a very different test! Anyway- good luck!
