My Chances?

Hey. Just wanted to know my chances of getting into UPenn EA.

I’m a junior at a public school in NJ. Top 25 HS in NJ - decently competitive. Interested in Business Management.

Academics
-GPA : 3.84 UW (3.7 in Freshment
-Most challenging courses available
-SAT : 2230 (790 Math, 730 Reading, 710 Writing)

ECs

  • Model UN (Vice President) - 2 years experience
  • Robotics (Business Team Leader) - Team won 3 World Championships in a row, won best business plan last year.
  • Stock Investing Club (President) - Founded club Sophomore year, currently competing in Wharton School Stock Investing Competition
  • Golf - 3 years experience
  • Registered LLC - Buying and Selling Limited Edition Sneakers (35k in profit over 3 years)
  • Learning to code Python
    -Fluent in Spanish, Hindi, Punjabi

Volunteer Work

  • Started my own organization freshmen year helping out elderly at community centers all over NJ.
  • Volunteer at hospital over summer (300 hours)

I think you have an okay chance. GPA is a little bit lower than average. Somehow, whether it be through essays or recommendations, you need to show your passion for your extracurriculars. You need to show them that you’re doing them because you enjoy them and not because you’re just doing them to get into college. I only say this because you started a few organizations and clubs. Now that’s not a bad thing at all. It could be great, but when people are creating all these new things to be in, it makes me skeptical about their motives for doing them.
