My Chances

Hey I'm applying to Yale RD this year, probably as a biochem major, and I just wanted to know my chances. Any and all help is greatly appreciated!

SAT-750 V, 700 M-1450 total
SAT II- 800 IIC, 800 Writing, 800 Bio-M

My GPA through the beginning of senior year was a 97.24 (unweighted) on a 100 point scale.

I attend a rigorous magnet high school, 55 kids in my class, no rankings, though I believe I'm in at least the top 10 %, probably number 2 or 3. Highest GPA is a 99.4

School didn't offer APs to freshman and sophomores
AP Calc AB and AP Bio- Junior Year (5 on both)
AP Physics C (2 classes), AP Lit and Comp, AP Calc II BC, AP Chem-Senior Year
I also skipped out of pre-calculus my junior year, if that means anything.

Through my school, I've taken about 25 college credits worth of classes in various technical/engineering fields.

Extra-Curriculars

Robotics Club-President Senior year, VP Junior Year. I wrote two grant proposals to NASA and won $6000 grants in both my junior and senior year for the club.
NHS-Member since Junior Year, treasurer junior year, President senior year.
Videowall Club- VP Senior year- Just a fun activity where we put up weekly presentations for the school.

Weekly Tennis Lessons-Sophomore through Senior Year-No sports offered at school .
Attended a "Mini-Med" school for high school students-Very Selective Program
Attended an NSLC Summer program after sophomore year-Also selective

There have been other things, but these are the things that I truly enjoyed during high school and was most dedicated to.

I held a job at CVS during the summer of my junior year-Again, I don't know if that actually means anything

Honors

Student of the Month-January of my junior year-I don't think this really means anything
Governer School's Semifinalist
Wrote a research proposal for the ExploraVision competition-Won an Honarable mention
Honarable Mention in National French Contest-Freshman and Sophomore year
ADDA Certified Drafter
National Merit Commended Scholar
Who's Who Among High School Students and various other mail awards

I should have really good recs, and my essays have been looked over by my
AP Lit. teacher who says they're really solid.

Thanks for your opinions

OK, you are going to here this from just about anyone who posts here, but I'll start.

You certainly have a real chance at getting into Yale. Your scores, grades, and activities (although you shouldn't mention the Who's Who competition) put you well within range. You don't have a significant "hook," so you may need to strengthen your all-around status.

However, looking at the EA stats, you (and almost everyone else) are far from guaranteed acceptance. Statistically, you will probably not get in. But that is the situation for most of us.

So apply, and cross your fingers. You definately have a shot at Yale, and however it turns out next winter, you can go into the process knowing that Yale would be lucky to have you.
