My chances?

I'm currently a freshman at my HS but i'm thinking about applying to Stanford U. in the future. I know that the admission is very tough (near impossible). My EC's not that great either.

So far I'm taking/ have taken this yr:
Pre-Cal: A
Alg-2:A
Physics: B last term, but i have an A this term
Gov.: A
Span. 2: A
Eng.: A

My EC's:
Future Business Leaders of America
Mock Trial
Theatre
SGA
Sign Language

I hear that colleges look for applicants who are "dedicated" and "show a passion" for a specific area. Are my EC's too broad, or should I just focus on a few EC's?

I'm didn't do any sports this yr, but i'm joining the dance team at my school next yr. Will that count as a sport?

Any advice? Tips? Thx!

Look, your freshman grades wont even matter for Stanford. As a freshman, I doubt you've engaged in half the ECs that will ultimately be on your application. Also, I'm sure you will find new interests. Here is a tip: find something you are really good at and excel. Good luck!

Find something you like and get good at it. In that order.

Stay committed to your ECs, but feel free to drop the ones that don't interest you. The important thing is that you don't stop doing SOMETHING.

Grades are fine, and I think that Dance counts as a sport of sorts.

when you say freshman grades don't matter to stanford.. do you mean they look at GPA from 10th, 11th, and 12th grade, and not 9th?
or just saying.. "oh freshman year grades don't matter as much"

lol it's not near impossible at all. the admit rate at stanford is somewhere around 12percent.

GoldenDragon: They totally discount freshman grades.
