I really need to bring up my standarized test grades...but i think it's very unlikely to happen. I think im just going to retake the ACT and take SATII's

and I DONT HAVE ANY HOOKS. not a favored minority. not a low income family member. didnt do any great EC works or got national awards. so...help me out here and tell me my reach/safe colleges and some advice on some factors that would improve my college application.

There are literally thousands of schools in this country - could you narrow it down a bit for us? :)

Make up a list of some schools and then people will be more than happy to chime in.

my dream school would be a small private school with not many asians.

not a racist. but i have a feeling that i'll end up hanging out with asians if i go to a huge school...that's just me though.

I'll still go to a huge school...if it's nice and gives me money. haha

and i cant afford much. even though my dad gets enough money.

but really i have no idea.
west. northeast. midwest. doesnt really matter.

OK, so would you prefer schools that have big national reputations or schools that are smaller (liberal arts colleges) but more tight knit? And when you say 'wherever', does that also mean you don't have preferences about the urban/rural settings of the schools?

Nash

ok. so.
im not sure.
i see the advantages of both kinds of schools.

but i really want to learn....................... i guess?
and i heard rumors that the graduate students teach at schools with big national reputations...i dont know if that's bad or not. but it sounded bad :(

so yes. liberal arts colleges.

and my ideal setting is
rural but 30 minutes away from a city............or i guess it is suburban.

thanks for helping me out here.
im really indecisive. im sure u can tell.

yea....idont like asians either

there are a lot of fantastic small liberal arts schools in the northeast where asians would be considered a true minority. here are a few that would be reasonable bets, have good science departments, and are suburban:
vassar, connecticut college, wesleyan, holy cross, skidmore, and if you are willing to look at all womens schools, mt holyoke and smith.

thanks.
i'll look into those colleges.
but no all women college. NO WAY.hehe

anyone else???????????
i want more advice :(

It's just hard to imagine working hard enough to be val and then slacking off on tests. Will the fact that you do this come accross in your recs? You're probably lookiing under top 25 although you may do better if you focus on LACs with low Asian populations.

so..........
i should probably bring up my test grades..huh
