bump

o and plus sum1 plz tell me wat u think cuz for some of my friends when i tell em my list theyre like... r u serious? and plus im not sure if i have any safeties, so if theres any1 out there w/ some feedback thx

Your wind ensemble has officers...? Weird. Anyway.

You're aiming too high for Harvard, Cornell, and Stanford. I think everything else is only a slight reach.

it's defenitely a shoo-in for NYU and george washington with your great gpa and test scores. pomona is somewhat of a slight reach. and just like the person said above, the ivy leagues you're eyeing are probably a reach, but do not despair --you do have a chance.

ok...so ignore the two ppl who said the ivies r a reach.
i'd say cornell, nyu, tufts, and amherst u have a 50/50 chance.
harvard u have a 20/80 chance, stanford about 30/70. pomona about 40/60
ur test scores r good and so is ure gpa (a 2230 on the SAT is damn good)
so don't worry, just write good essays...im sure u'll get into at least 2 or 3 of ur top 5. i have worse stats than u and i am also applying to stanford and cornell.
so...i don't know what BandTenHut and dawn1029 were saying, cuz ur sat and gpa are well w/ in range, if not above. cornell's avg sat is around 2090, and ure well above that. however, stanford's is about 2250, and harvard's about 2270.

What were your grades on the regents?
The regents are also looked at by colleges, if your not sure about that
how did you do on the global history, Math A, Biology, earth science, chemistry, physics, US history, Math B regents?

global: 100
math a: 98
bio: 99
earth sci: 98
chem: 87
physics: 91
ush: 98
math b: 96
english: 99

Im not sure whether they counted the earth science, but your regents grades look pretty good. I would say that you could have done better in chemistry and physics. What were your final averages in the classes. If they were above 94, then you would prabably be good to go

how much do regentses (whatever) count?
i'd love to think they were as important as sats.

yea i kno it definitely woulda been nice to do better in chem and physics... i kinda sucked at chem, and got a b+ for the year (at least it was honors i guess), and i got an a- in physics, honors too. if it makes any difference, im taking ap chem this skool yr

REMEMBER everything is Important. You must remember that REGENTS count as 20% of your grade in your class. as in they are equal to one marking period

what was your final average in earth science

im 75% sure it was an A, but it mightve been an A-

i scored a 96 in the class with everything combined.... would that be a A or a A-?

what is a A= A+=
A-=

oh. ummm in our skool 90-92 is A-, 93-96 is A, 97-100 is A+

and ummm btw, were u just asking cuz u were curious? or do u think they may matter when colleges look at my apps? btw its all good w/ me if u r just asking out of curiosity

o and btw, anybody else have opinions on my chances at these skools?

so i got a A too :)

The grade as a whole that you got in the class will go on your application.
The regents grade fuses with your marking period grades, to form a final average, which is then place on your COLLEGE app
