My Chances

I'm currently a Junior but I'm really stressing over the whole college admissions process. Ever since I attended one of the college information nights, I've fallen in love with Johns Hopkins. Could someone give me a quick assessment of my chances?

That's all I can think of right now. What are my chances if I continue down this track?

i say you dont need to take the sat, for sure. use the act with writing to replace that. everything else looks fine. i say you have a good chance or you're on track to get into JHU. Good luck next year.

I heard something from my teacher a while back (he used to be at Emory admissions) about the East coast schools ignoring the ACT and favoring the SAT much more. Is that true?

Could someone give input on the SAT II scores I have? =[

Also, would my chances significantly go up if i do ED?

does anyone know about the ACT thing?

you can submit either the ACT or SAT... supposedly neither one is favorable to the next...

I suggest looking at the percentiles of the SAT II's to determine wheter they are good or bad. These can be easily found on "my organizer" on collegeboard. But 660 for physics doesn't sound too great...I know there is a huge curve on that test...you can get 12 wrong and still get 800 I believe.

It also seems like you're going to major in the sciences/engineering...they strongly recommend Math IIc for that.

as jovenes132 said, the sat and sat 2 many not help much with your admission. so it is to your advantage to stick with your act score.

is 31 on the ACT good? x_x I dont quite know whats "good" for the ACT

o yah (it's better than your sat score), its like 2060-2100; enough to be in the middle percentile for jhu.

hmm. but what's middle percentile mean? I have a good chance of getting in because that's what most people had when they got in?

it means that you're in their range of scores. But it doesn't necessarily mean that you WILL get in.

Chance threads suck because they only create a false sense of security.

Georgeyang, you're only barely a junior. Compose yourself before the time you REALLY apply rolls around, eh?
