my chances

hi guys i am currently a junior at austin high school in Houston texas

These are my stats

3.6585 gpa
1354 sat
112/678
Student council soph and junior years
NHS
plays baseball and football
350 community service hours

these are the schools iam applying to
Southern Methodist University
Texas Christian University
UT austin
George washington U
Duke Univ.
Georgetown

Give me an honest answer on my chances good or bad.
thanks

i am not sure about the other schools but duke and georgetown may be a bit of a stretch. But, don't worry about it. If you don't get in, just think of it as their loss.

dont know too much about the other schools but id says GW is a good match but Gtown and Duke are reaches. Duke is extremely selective and that GPA is a little low

SMU - safety/match
TCU - safety/match
UT - reach/match (not in the top 10%)
GW - match
Duke - reach
Georgetown - reach

Would applying Early admissions help my chances?

you really wouldnt need it except for Duke and Gtown. i think it would increase your chances at Duke slightly and but not so much at Gtown. honestly i think you are like %10 for Duke depending on EC and essay and like 10-15% for Gtown same reason. The class rank and average is a killer no satII hurt as well

do yall think i would have a chance at NYU or university of chicago if i bring my gpa up to around 3.72 and a rank of about 100?

and how about UPENN? sorry i keep adding but im getting a little bit anxious

I belive UPenn is harder to get into than duke.

Its too hard to tell they are just so hard that it just varies from year to year once u get out of the HYP the next 5 or 6 are a crap shoot and really depend on the applicants

It'll be really hard for you to get into UT Austin because you're not top 10%, and you live in-state. With that rule, a lot of highly qualified Texans get turned down because the top 10% rule fills up so much of the class. The remaining spots mostly go to Texans with amazing other stats (1600 SAT score, for example) or out-of-state students for diversity purposes.

1354 on the SAT? is that possible? i thought the SAT is scored on like 10s. is there something i am missing? are u some person special that you get a special scale?

yeah, newbyreborn, you didn't know that? but for the reach schools, just pull up that SAT score to 1455+.
