<p>Hey, so Cornell has been my number one choice for a while but I'm not sure how good my academics and ECs need to be, anyone want to give a hand?</p>

Volunteer/Service Work: Volunteering at a local animal shelter, fund raising for the My Lai peace Park Project, 20hrs of other minor projects including stuff for NHS</p>

<p>you stand a fairly decent chance, but captain of the chess team is a rather weak leadership position in my opinion</p>

<p>I'd say you have pretty good chance. If you applied early you'd fall under the category if me being slightly surprised if you didn't get in. When I applied I had similar statistics.</p>

<p>What are my Chances to get accepted to Cornell with 3.89 GPA from a Technical college ( I went to Technical Career lnstitute, NYC)?</p>

<p>You should get in.. I dont see how you will get rejected. Your scores are great, you are in vasity and have good volunteering experiences etc. Good luck!</p>

<p>My daughter is completing her applications. She believes that Cornell is a reach but amongst her top choices. She wants to study Engineering (Chemical/BioMedical/BioChemical). Does she have a chance to get in?</p>

Komen Race for the Cure, Food Pantry, summer arts camp, School District Special Needs program, Teen Court and the Summer Reading Program at public library. Did fund raising and acted as a counselor at one week summer camp experience to 75 homeless children and children who go to Title I schools. Average between 150-300 community service hours per year.</p>

-Lemelson- MIT Inventeams. Went to MIT during summer to present project in front of many. Continuing projects this year.

-Volunteered at library +60 hrs.
-Engineering class at Johns Hopkins U.
-Rec league Basketball team (should i include this on apps or leave this out?)
-Prolly try for internship at intel this year
Alright so i know u guys said chess is not a big thing, but i have gone pretty deep in chess and its shaped me a lot, been playing competitvley for like 6 years. Do i got any chances for Cornell engineering. Ed maybe?</p>
