My chances at USC??

I'm guessing thats 1580 out of 1600? And how low income? $60K or $16K?

"SAT I- 1580 (trying again in Oct)"

-pretty sure that's out of 2400...I don't think anyone would retake a 1580/1600...

I hoping for his sake it's out of 1600.

^ lol. /*************/

Though not out of the realm of possiblity, I would probably consider it a reach/far reach.

16k....... out of 2400 (yea i know..)

Try to get in, you'll get more than full tuition just for being poor. I did.

would my financial status destroy my little chance in getting into the school?

dont apply if u cant afford :)

jk

Do not let low family income keep you from applying to a school that utilize need-blind admission (i.e. Univ of Southern California). You never know what financial aid you might receive. It may very well cover all of your expense.

Just focus on that SAT score to increase your possibility of receiving admission to the University.

about what SAT

.....sorry........ About what SAT scores do i need to have a decent shot at USC, (KEEP IN MIND MY LOW GPA). What other schools in SOCAL will accept me?? What do you guys think about "connections" at USC.... My family knows a lot of people at USC.... will this help?? Thank you... --wf909.

In general, "connections" at USC will not help you. There are very few exceptions to this.

Your financial need is NOT considered at all when your application is being evalualted for acceptance.

There is really no way to quote SAT/GPA needed for USC because we have seen so many exeptions on this (search for "Official Decisions ... USC"). To play it safe, MOST applicants with a 3.8 UW GPA and over 2100 SAT got in- but of course there are some exceptions to that as well.

What major are you considering? What size school? Are you looking only at private schools or will you apply to the California state schools (UC's and CSU's)? Maybe you could post a thread in a chances area with your question about, "What other schools in SOCAL will accept me?" Get organized and present all your stats and what you are looking for in a college and hopefully, you will get some more advice here. Good luck.
