My chances

i am another high school student wondering if my chances of getting into brown are high or low… i’m a junior at one of the best high schools in the pittsburgh area. here’s all the background info:

grades: 4.2 freshman year (all a’s); 3.(something) sophomore year—i got 4 b’s which i feel might be my downfall- i skipped the french II level and got a B in french III, B in accelerated algebra II, world history AP [although i got a 5 on the AP test] and health class. there is no class rank, but my guidance counselor has told me i am in the “top 10%”

tests: signed up for october and may SATs; the bio, spanish w/ listening, world history, french, math I, us history and literature SAT subjects (various dates); looking into ACTs. will probably take AP exams for all 10 AP classes.

essay/recommendations: should be very good to great

my junior year schedule is as follows:
AP biology
AP english (grammar)
AP us history
spanish IV
french IV
AP spanish V
precalculus

my projected senior schedule:
AP chemistry
AP calculus ab
AP government or AP european history (can’t decide)
AP french V
french VI
spanish VI
AP english (literature)

i am worried that because i have devoted so much of my schedule to languages, that i will not be excepted to the PLME program (which would be my ultimate goal) or even the college because i have not taken any art or music classes. should i change my schedule to meet this requirement, or do the two languages at high levels set me apart?

extracurriculars (thus far):
the cause of my b’s sophomore year!
-i have been the president of two clubs since sophomore year:
student action for global awareness and the environmental club
-i am an active member of:
MUN, forensics, NHS (which requires that i tutor elementary school students for an three hours a week), french club, spanish club, multicultural club, book club, student government (caucus leader), spirit committee, ski club
-i have been teaching CCD (fifth grade level, my own class) since freshman year
-i have been to haiti on a medical mission trip and am organizing a medical mission trip to uganda through my church’s youth ministry
-i volunteer at global links- a local organization that sends surplus medical supplies to developing countries- weekly
-i interned for a local environmental radio program over the summer
-i belong to the general public committee of a local environmental non-profit organization
-i helped organize pittsburgh’s national day of climate action rally
-piano lessons since age of 7, taught myself guitar
NEXT SUMMER:
i am thinking of three things: governor’s school, an internship with the McGee Woman’s Institute (biomedical research, but a very competitive program) or a one month home-stay/spanish immersion in uruguay. more volunteering at global links. which plans would be the best in terms of getting me into brown?

am i on the right track? are those b’s going to kill me? what about not having any real sports on my EC resume? i also have no honors/awards…should i be entering contests or something? how do you get recognitions like that?

any feed back would be MUCH appreciated. thanks!

I have no idea.
