My chances...?

Hi guys,

I'm sorry I'm filling up this forum with stuff, but I'm just kinda nervous about this application. Please check out my stats and see if I have a good shot at this.

Rank: 1 out of 1100
SAT I: 2360
SAT IIs: 800 (math 2), 790 (US hist), 770 (chem)
Ethnicity: Asian
Major applying to: biology/premed
School Type: competitive public
Gender: F
I submitted an essay and teacher recommendation letter (from my junior Chem AP teacher). I did not submit a counselor recommendation letter.

I've also volunteered over 500 hours at various hospitals, community events, and at my church throughout high school.

The main reason I'm kind of nervous is because I'm out of state. I've heard that they look harder on out of states than in states, and I'm not even from the region! I'm actually in TX.

Thank you very much guys! And I hope you all get in!

it seems like you'll definitely get in-probably with an acceptance to the honors college.

They like OOS.

Looks like you're a very competitive candidate anywhere.

You could win the Chancellors Scholarship for a full ride!

I had worse stats and I got in with a full ride:

SAT I: 2210
SAT II's: 800 Math 2, 800 Spanish, 730 Physics

It's nice to know I've got somewhere to go if all of this ivy league/stanford business doesn't work out :)

BTW, I'm from New Mexico

Thanks guys for the reassurance. I still haven't gotten any response from U Pitt yet though... keep my hopes up! :)

Just out of curiosity, is this your top choice? Or are you hoping to get into one of the top private schools? If it is your top choice, what about it makes you want to go there? I haven't looked into Pitt that much actually- I just applied on a whim when I saw the app was free :) It seems like the campus is really urban, and I think I prefer the more enclosed type.

app was free! dam wasted my money
