My chances?

Hi,

I'm a second semester freshman at Bard College. I really love it here; the setting is beautiful, albeit in the middle of nowhere, and the professors are amazing (I really love my ability to interact with them).

I am an International Student, I went to school abroad. I did the IB, got 29. (Really bad I know.)
6 in French B HL
5 in Econ HL (in French)
5 in History HL
6 in Math SL (in French)
and my other grades are way too bad!
SATs -> 1890 (660 in math, 630 in reading, 590 in writing) SAT IIs french 760

my college GPA is 3.51...
major: IR, Econ (Finance?), math
Last semester I took:
Macro Econ, International Relations, UN (1 credit), Comp. Sci, and FYSEM

This coming semester I'm taking:
Investment, Micro Econ, History, FYSEM, Calc 3, and auditing UN

my HS ECs:
MUN club (president), CAS cambodia (co-chair), peer leadership (founding member), student newspaper,
my college ECs: varsity soccer, student judiciary board, MUN, international student organization, college dems,
and I'm a correspondent for an online newspaper scoop'08.

My reasons for transferring are the following:
- The kids are bard are nice, and whatnot, but they aren't my kind of people. They drink and party all the time. They aren't really motivated to work, perhaps that is just because I'm becoming more and more interested in Economics, math, and IR. (Bard isn't really known for there math.)
-The variety of courses is not that great. (There are some extremely interesting classes.)
-The academics at bard don't really suit my major.

transfer list: Northwestern, UChicago, Georgetown, John Hopkins, WashU, Yale, Bowdoin, Dartmouth (possibly)

You don't have a good shot at competitive schools this year with a 3.5. Can you wait a year to boost your grades?

I could wait, but if I leave I'd want to go ASAP. Besides transferring I could do a 3-2 program with Columbia Fu. So basically it's a win-win for me.

Other relevant info:
WashU wait listed me last year.
- I speak fluent French, some Italian, and Arabic.
My parents are both immigrants. I'm first-generation American. I live abroad, I travel quite a lot.

bump bump bump

Johns Hopkins*

Dartmouth and Yale are Ivy League and with a 3.51 GPA is not competitive enough for the Ivy League. Think about the competition of those applicants applying to the schools you want to attend. Assuming Yale is one of the top college in the country, transfer GPAs would probably be mostly perfect 4.0s or very close to it.

All of the schools you've listed look like reaches to high reaches to me. This approach is OK as long as you're happy staying at Bard if none of these schools come through. However if you really want to transfer out, you should make a more balanced list.
