Hey, I was thinking of applying to IU-B as a political science major. I did some research on the school and am really liking it. I don't think my stats are up to par though..what do you think?

3.7 W GPA
27 ACT (I want to retake this and try to improve my score)
Lots of EC's
Out of State.

you'll get in...i applied back in september with 3.494 gpa and 30 ACT and I was accepted first week of october....by the way i saw you post on the psu board and i also applied there and i'm dying to hear back.

It is so annoying how inconsistent they are with their notification!
PSU is my number one but I am starting to apply to other places because I don't think I'm gonna get it in lol.

Ha yeah np...I'm freaking out about PSU though cause it's also my number one but my GPA isn't super high though...I think my ACT could make up for it plus I have some good EC's but who knows..I just can't wait to hear.

Everyone on that posts says that your GPA worth 2/3 of chances or something like that but I don't think that's true. My sister got it with a 3.3 and 2030 on her SAT last year so I definitely think high test scores help for lower GPAs.

Tilohnine, did your sister have lots of APs and Honors courses? And what college at UP did she apply to (ie Communications,Education, Liberal Arts ....)? Just curious :-)

Choirmom- she applied to school of education and had a lot of EC's. Only two APs and one honors course. This was last year though and it seems that PSU has gotten more competitive since then.

I have a 3.66, ACT 30 and I got in Prefer admit to the business school. This is by no means a stretch for you, actually more of a safety. But get your stuff in ASAP, or else your chances of getting in get smaller.
