Now, I just want to know, what are my chances at these schools. I know my stats aren't very good, but I'm an amazing people person, essay writing is my forte, and have a drive to succeed. Just want some opinions, anything else I should do/look into, also, any other suggestions as to where to apply?? Strictly looking at the East Coast, preferably Northeast.

THANKS A LOT!!!!

Any opinions?

You can probably get into GW, Bard, BU. Others are a reach. Also, sounds like you need aid. Have you investigated your chances for aid at these choices? If you like Bard, there are other LACs that you should also consider. A lot depends on your SATs. What are you really looking for? Large, northwestern, urban university with name recognition- that's what it seems like. How about Northeastern- you would have a possibility of earning some of your tuition on the coop program.

Might look at Holy Cross.

I think you have a good list, balanced with safeties and reaches. Go for it.

I'm looking for a small-mid size university, no more than like 18,000 kids in preferably a large city.

par72: If you're talking about the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, Mass, I think its a bit too catholic for me, heh. I know BC and G-town are pretty jesuit/catholic, but holy cross seems to be way more focused on it, as the other two have declined with the focus to get a more rounded student body. But, maybe I'm wrong.

Also, what about American University? Any opinions??

THANKS!

So, any other thoughts??

I guess not, lol

probably comes down to your SAT score. All that education in your family and your dad doesnt pay child support? Im really sorry man. Do you debate nationally or are you mainly local?

Yeah, I know, its alright. Anyway, I debate locally and nationally, this year I went to The Crestion (Ft. Lauderdale, FL), Emory, Harvard, wanted to go to Blue Key and Wake, but Wake was cancelled and Blue Key got messed up for me, I do Congress mainly.

BUMP, also, anyone think I have even the slightest chance at Vassar?

^

Also, does anyone have any other suggestions for me?

Does anyone have any other opinions?

Also, what do you think my chances are at Brandeis?

I think you have a good chance at all of the schools you listed. It's interesting, we're both looking at the same majors. If I were you, I'd use debate as your hook.

Good luck on the SAT and ACT!

^ Thanks, I was thinking the same, good luck to you as well!

Any other opinions out there? Also, forgot to mention, as of right now I'm sitting at about top 15% (98/668?) of my class, but will definately be higher by the time I apply.

Sure, you have a chance at Vassar and American. Vassar even has a lot of financial aid. American sounds like a good choice. You could also look at Catholic University. It's also in the city, nice campus, but not in a nice area. American's campus is in a nice, residential area. Catholic University is not too Catholic. I don't know much about Brandeis, but think that you would have a shot. It's actually in the suburbs, and I've read student complaints on websites that it isn't that easy to get to Boston or Cambridge.

^Thanks :)

My list as of now is:
Bard
GWU
BC
BU
Vassar
UFlorida (Just b/c it's in-state, etc)
American? (It's always been a question mark for me, just can't decide)

I would love to go to GWU, Bard or Vassar

Do you think this is a good list, or do I need more safeties/matches/reaches? If so, could you suggest some based on my stats and preferences.

THANKS!

~Ben

Any more ideas? :)
