Think I have a shot at BU?

Two words: "Shoot Higher."
Four more words: "Customize Your Forum Spams"

lol, okay, it's not my #1 school, but I was just curious

i think he was kidding...i don't think you will have a problem.

^ Thank you

I don't want to use the words "shoe-in" but it's damn near close.

^ Hehe, alright, I appreciate it

Any other opinions? This would be for RD this coming fall

1300 SAT is average and your GPA is in the average range. ECs and course load look great. You should be able to improve your score as you take the SAT. That will help. It looks good but no one is a shoe in anywhere these days. Visit and make your interest known.

How would you demonstrate your interest in a particular school?

I don't know, I inquired online and filled out their information sheet to get things in the mail, then emailed my admissions counselor and a professor there.

Any other opinions, I'll update on the 20th and 22nd when I find out my SAT and ACT scores.

When I started asking my chances on this website last december, it was so important to me. I figured that even if these people were wrong, they can still give good advice and encouragement. But now that the process is over for me, I realized that my obsession with this website was insane. Reading from the kids who got accepted/rejected, it is really impossible to tell. Kids with 1460s and 1350s are getting waitlisted and rejected! It doesn't make sense to me. I know this will be really hard to do, but I wish someone had told me this last year: CALM DOWN. First of all, Don't set your heart on any one school. Have like 3 schools that you love and would love to go to that are reasonable and within your reach. Second of all, KEEP BUSY! I didn't have anything else to do, so every day I would like run home to the computer and be like: omgomg what did everyone say!?! Now I look at it more of a place to talk to people and ask their advice instead of: OMG AM I GOING TO GET IN!!?? Because It drove me crazy lol.

But anyway, another thing I've learned as that talking to people can wok miracles. Since you've been emailing people, that is definitely a plus. Also, your stats are good. I got in and got money with a 1280 and you beat that. So yeah... things are looking good. Best of luck with everything though. Maybe I'll see you at BU one day!

^ Thanks for the advice! :)

I know this is a bit early, but what do you guys think are my chances of getting into BU for the fall sememster of 2006???

@ladymarmalad: Use your best judgment. No offense to you, your vita is oustanding, but these ego massaging rhetorical chances posts have got to go.

EDIT: No, we don't appreciate copy and paste chance-spamming of two safety schools and two reaches within a member's first four posts.

^ Hehe, oh well, BU's not a safety for me, a match I'd say, at most a slight safety, but I'd love it there none the less.

well excuse me for not wanting to type up the same thing over and over again

Pending a cross-board vote on your case requiring at least 60% member turnout, you may consider yourself excused.

Jeez, hijacking my thread, lol, any other opinions for me?
