My chances?

I'm currently a junior. I have yet to take the SAT but i got a 34 on the ACT. Next year I will be taking all my courses at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. I am in a variety of clubs and am currently president of sci club and co captain of the science Olympiad team. Also, I am currently in an internship in a research lab working 10 hours a week and 24 hours a week in the summer. In terms of grades I have a 3.9 GPA (don't know what it is weighted because my school does not weigh grades) and have gotten all As in 5 AP classes. I got a 4 on the AP bio test last year which I am still ****ed about.... but received a 5 in AP chem. The other three I have yet to take but expect 5s.

What are my chances of getting into Brown, Princeton, or MIT?

Your credentials look rather a lot like mine, except somewhat better in every respect.
What are you planning to major in?

I probably should have explained =o. I’m looking to go to med school. In terms of undergraduate school though, I would like to double major in biochemistry and biology.

very average chances.

nothing stands out.

I’m doing engineering, so I really have no idea.
Consider Wisconsin-Madison, UVa, UNC, UIUC, lots of other great places without the hype and deflated admission rates.

You have an okay shot at MIT because nothing stands out. What competitions have you won?

I have gotten 3 second place and 1 3rd place medals at Sci. Olympiad state.

Forensics - 3rd place at state.

NHS

its pretty impressive your resume…but if you want to go to MIT, it is always a reach…for almost anyone…to put it in perspective…you have to really shine in alot of areas to really have a great chance of getting into MIT and Princeton…id say you can get into Brown pretty comfortably though…just make sure you get a 730+ on math and critical reading…800 in math for MIT and Princeton…look at taking some SAT II’s as well…it wll help for Princeton and MIT…the essay is what will make the difference for Princeton…you have to show your passion as a learner seeking knowledge…why dont you look at other univ’s like Umichigan which has a great pre-med program, Johns Hopkins? Cornell, UCLA?

Thanks for the input. I will be taking 4 SAT 2 tests, and I am seriously looking at John Hopkins. However, Brown is probably my number one choice. I really want to have very broad college experience.
