I actually want legit answers. I’m seriously considering Syracuse as a school and all I’m asking for is an accurate and honest assessment of my chances.

Your SAT scores are great. Your SAT II scores probably wouldn’t matter since the University don’t look at those. At least not yet. Not sure how admissions criteria will change in the future. Your Extra-curriculars are a bit less than stellar. But you must provide what schools within Syracuse you are applying for. You’re probaly a shoe in for Arts and Sciences but Newhouse might be a possibility.

You’re probaly a shoe in for Arts and Sciences but Newhouse might be a possibility.
That’s what you said isn’t it? He said he is applying to Arts and Sciences, so I guess you do agree with my statement.

The average SAT score for Syracuse according to college board is from 1600-1900. He has a 2200. The average GPA is around a 3.5 or 3.6 I’m pretty sure, he has a 4.0.

Theres actually a reason why I said probably.

Have you ever heard of being “too good” for a certain college?

I’m not saying Syracuse does this but schools actually rejects applicants that they feel may be over qualified for their school in an effort to protect their yield. Take Tufts University for example. You might have heard of the famous “Tufts syndrome” My guess is that it boils down to how much interest you show in order to “really” get your foot in the door.

House of London you are correct actually I forgot to take that into account. I know someone who got rejected from GW but got into Brown because she was overqualified.

Your SAT score is 300 points above the 75th percentile. You have a 4.0 unweighted gpa which is certainly above the average at Syracuse. You are not the average Syracuse applicant that’s for sure.

Now you’re just pushing it^ I just gave you a reason why Syracuse cannot be a safety.

Excuse you. I suggest you look up the term “kissing a**.” Now whether he is actually flaunting his smarts is his business. Not mine or yours because I’m already in college.
