Kenyon is my number one choice, so I would appreciate any feedback. Thank you so much.

You should get in. I’m assuming you’re a guy as a girl running that fast would probably be going DI. Too bad your school doesn’t have rampant GPA inflation; it seems everyone on here is claiming to have a 5.4, which I always thought was impossible. Your SAT is on the low side, but the ACT along with the AP classes should make up for it. Just keep your fingers crossed; it’s a crap shoot at this point. Don’t get too discouraged if you are deferred. I would bet on your acceptance, but it depends on how many EDI kids they accepted and how many EDII apps they’ve gotten. Good luck.

apparently you can’t be deferred ED2, so disregard that bit about not being discouraged.

Thanks for the input. Where did you see that ed2 doesn’t have deferral?

masterbraz, i had around the same GPA as you, and the same ACT, and I had around the same sports and same amount of extracurriculars. and I got in regular decision. you definitely have a really solid list. good luck!

thanks for the hope Cascade!

Cool to see another buckeye boys state delegate applying. What city and party were you in?

Eaton/Federalist

I worked for Lovejoy as Director of Natural Resources.

How about you?

Leonard/Nationalist

Worked as a Representative for the General Assembly.

^You were from LENOARD???

I was from Mooney :), worked in commerce but ran for State Auditor (taped the signs to me, shouted at random Nationalists…). Awesome week. I’m amazed y’all survived our Mooney harassment…

Just to throw it out there:

LEN-oard???

We OWN/Love/hate LEN-OARD…

Buckeye boys state was the best!

Does anyone else have an opinion on my chances? And is it fact i can’t be deferred with ED2?

Yeah it was.

Anyway, I wouldn’t worry too much. Kenyon seems to care more about class rank than over inflated GPA’s (They reweight things like a 5.0 down to normal GPA’s). Your extra-curriculars are great, and your tests scores are right in their range. They also tend to favor you early decision applicants, so all in all, I’d say you have a very good chance. (Of course since all that information is based on their posted addmissions statistics, you probably already knew that.)

As for a subjective call, your school seems rigourous seeing as your work ethic (Judged by the numbers of APs), test scores, and GPA seem to mismatch a tad bit with your GPA being a little low for a 31 and your AP’s, but since your class rank backs up that only 11% of your class has higher than a 3.4 UW, I’d say this works in your favor.

Good luck masterbraz. I think Kenyon will look favorable on you.

I thought I saw somewhere that ED2 and RD had the same deadline from which I assumed that Kenyon wouldn’t defer a ED2 applicant to RD unless the applicant requested it. At least for some schools, when I applied a few years ago the ED2 deadline came in mid to late December, well before the RD deadline, which made deferral a possibility. With the same deadline, it’s hard for me to see why a school would have any incentive to defer their decision. It’s possible I’m mistaken, and I’m sure you can be wait listed which I suppose is a form of deferral. Anyway, I like your chances.

thanks for the opinions. And that makes sense foolsgold. I’m just thinking they may defer, because they make the decision to decide me by beginning of February vs (i think) mid march

O, ok, didn’t realize that, I didn’t do an ED2 application anywhere, so I don’t really know. I feel like once they know what their applicant pool looks like, if they want to admit you, they’ll want to make it so you have to come.

If someone gave me decent odds, I’d bet a lot of money on you being accepted. Anyway, best of luck to ya.

Accepted to kenyon!
