my chances?!

Hey, I go to a very competitive public school ( i think ranked 4/5 in CA) in northern california. But were not allowed to take AP classes until 11th grade.
Im Asian Indian female and going to be a senior.

Right now I want to apply to:
UCB
UCLA
UCSD
UC DAVIS
STANFORD

Freshman Year: GPA 4.0
Sophomore Year: GPA 4.0 (i took three honors classes in sophomore year as well and someone told me honors english didnt count extra for UCs) so weighted would be 4.33)
Junior Year: weighted GPA: 4.5. unweighted is 3.83

total weighted GPA for entire hs career: 4.42
total unweighted GPA: 3.92

junior year i took AP Chem (5) and AP stats (4)

senior year im taking
AP Physics
AP Music Theory
AP Calculus AB
AP English
Biotech
Gov't/ Econ

Im thinking about taking AP Calculus BC and AP Biology online so that it will show on my transcript.

SAT: 700 writing/ 650 verbal/ 750 math total 2100 (will retake in october)

ok so any input would be appreciated! thanks

oh i forgot to add...i am probably going to major in chem

You have a good shot at UCB and UCLA and all the other UCs should be safe with a good essay. You won't be competitive at Stanford with current scores.

pianolover25:

UCB: Match
UCLA: Match
UCSD: Safe Match
UCD: Safety

thanks. anyone else?

bump anyone?

What is your class rank? For Stanford you'll want to be near the very top of your class, definitely top 5% You also want at least 100 more points between math and CR. I'd have to say really small chance at Stanford. Don't know about UCs.

hmm ok. yeah i know stanford is a reach, but what would improve my chances? i dont know my class rank as of now.

i am pretty sure berkeley would be my first choice. is there anything i should do to make sure i will get in there?

bump bump bump

you are in good shape for berkeley. make sure one of those other SAT II's, preferably the math, ends up 700+. No guarantees but you are a solid candidate for all except Stanford (no offense, Stanford is brutal!).

You're in for all the UC's but Stanford is a tad out of reach.

thanks. as i said, i am just applying to stanford just for the heck of it. berkeley is my first choice basically.

write good essays, they always provide an opportunity to let you show your stuff

yeah really highlight that piano skill. once colleges knew i played at carnegie the summer before. they were really keen on me even as a junior. i should have even written an essay about my love for music.
