So what are my chances at these schools: UW Madison, UM Twin Cities, Northwestern, NYU, Berkeley, Georgetown, and UCLA?

Also how much do you think being a member Co-op helps?

Where are you from? I assume you’re from Wisconsin. If so, I think you’re in at UW Madison, UM Twin Cities. I think you’re going to need to raise your ACT score and GPA to have a shot at Northwestern, NYU, Berkeley, Georgetown, and UCLA. Your scores are really good but those schools usually require higher numbers. Good luck.

Yeah, I’m from Wisconsin. Not too sure I can raise my GPA by the end of this semester but I can retake the ACT in June if you really think that would help. The 32 was on my first try without studying, so maybe a little effort would help? lol

You’re a junior, right? Colleges will require the grades you earn first semester next year, too, so you can still raise your GPA. And keep in mind that most colleges like to see trends. If you’re killing it as a senior that can only help you.

IMO the difference between a 32 and a 34 or above is huge. If you got a 32 w/o studying, then dude put in some time (take a course, if one is available in your area), then you should be able to get a 34+. Then you’d be in line for those other schools.

Also keep in mind that your essays are really important. I’d start working on them as soon as the apps come on-line which I think is around July 1st.

Is money a concern? Will your parents pay $50k+ for the school of your choice?

If your parents will not pay $50k+ per year for your education, then keep in mind that UCLA, UCB, and NYU will not give you the aid you’d need to attend. And, if you’ll need aid, you’ll need to find out what you’d qualify for and whether your parents will pay the difference.

Yes, I’m still a junior. Next year shouldn’t be much trouble at all so my GPA can only go up. Do you guys know if being in co-op will help at all? And I really would rather not take it again, but if you really thing I could move TWO points it might be worth it. Also, no, money isn’t a top concern.
