My Chances?

Hey everyone,

I am currently a first year student at a community college with a 4.0 GPA. I am as of right now a Business Administration major looking to transfer out of here after this year. I want to pursue a degree in Sports Management or continue with the Business Ad. major and Minor in Sports Management. The schools I am looking at are Syracuse, Ithaca and SUNY Cortland. Here are my details that I feel I would need and or should put in my app:

High School GPA: 3.0
SAT: 1400
Varsity Soccer and Baseball
College GPA: 4.0
And currently looking for a club to join
I also work as a Cashier and Bakery Clerk for supermarket

Ive been told by my college professor as well as my english teacher that I am an extraordinary essay writer so I hope that will help on the essay part of the Apps.

Please tell me how you feel my chances are of getting into the Sport Managment or Business Programs at Syracuse, Ithaca or SUNY Cortland.

Thank You!

is ur 1400 M+Cr or M+Cr+W?

its M+Cr+W

anyone else want to reply? i would like to hear opinions=]

General advice - I think the the 1400 is going to still hurt (kill) you. After 2 years at the CC it won’t even be an issue so my quick advice is to stay another year and get another 4.0, at that point your a golden transfer student.

ok thanks for the advice, anyone else like to comment?

I agree with ncmentor also. However, try to start researching schools that put less weight on one’s SAT score and consider the GPA more so. Your high school GPA wasn’t fantastic, but it’s definitely better than your SAT score.

Keep your college grades up and good luck!
