Pton: 20%

I hope you have some safeties. With no hook and being Asian, there's a strong chance you won't get into any of these schools. See the posts about "andi's son."

you don't think UF is safe enough? The acceptance rate is very high and people that are pretty dumb at my school have gotten in.

1530 old sat, rank 1, and he may not get into any???

Although suze is highly critical at times, it is possible that you could get rejected even though you are obvioulsy very accomplished.

oh...oops....yes UF is a safety though

UF is a lock, plain and simple

Agreed, though I don't think maguo's chances are as high as uvajoe claimed

Harvard: 15%
MIT: 18%
Cornell: 50%
Duke: 50%
JHU: 35%
Florida: 100%
Mich: 99%
WU:65%
Pton: 18%

how did you come up with 18%, such a specific number?

maguo how many years have you done your clubs?

18% - just an estimate. MIT's acceptance rate is 16%, and it seems to me that maguo has a slightly better chance due to his SAT scores...that's just my view on it though :)

Ummm i am not sure about this, but don't you need Math Level 2?

I"m basing my stats on what he has right now. If he doesn't take the IIC, then it's an automatic reject by half of these schools.

I kinda agree. VERY HIGH SAT I's... Kinda crummy EC's. For the schools you want to apply to, you're at a geographical disadvantage.

By the way, do you know if most of these schools mind if I don't have any sort of a writing score?

Sorry, I missed UF. As things continue to get more competitive, it seems like high scorers with unimpressive ECs suffer most.

I have been involved in NHS for 2 yrs, Key Club (2), Mu Alpha Theta (4)
Quiz Bowl (4), French Honor Society (3), Student Council (2).
I will take Math IIC in November; expect to score > 750.
Hey, why are my EC "crummy" . What does a good one look like?

bump bump bump
