Colleges Applying To:
UCB
UCLA
UCSD
UCSB
SDSU
USC

Your 10-11 UC GPA is 3.954, not 4.04125 (you have to cap your honors courses at 8 (you took 11 semester hours of honors during these two years).

The UC GPA of acceptees/registered students is:
UC Berkeley-4.19 and 2100 SAT
UCLA--4.12 or 4.17 (depends on which stats you use)-and 2000 SAT
UCSD--3.98 and SAT of 1880
UCSB--3.76 and SAT of 1760

SDSU is less than this
and USC is W GPA around 4.0 (no cap--so use your 4.04 here for comparison)
and SAT at USC is around 2025

Your stats are 3.95 GPA (UCs) and 4.04 W (USC), with SAT Is of 1820
and SAT IIs (top 2 is what UCs require) of 1330

UC takes their GPA from your junior/sophomore classes. If you took more than 4 AP's your GPA will not be weighted any extra, although, it will still look better in admissions if you take more than 4.

The idea is to encourage people to take a lot of honors/AP/IB courses, but not put those students at a major disadvantage who go to schools that offer very few--or even none--of these kinds of courses.

And yes, if your school offers more--and you take them--it looks better to the adcoms.
