My chanes at stanford?

Currently I am only a Junior, but my dream is to go to Stanford. Here are my stats up to now. Am I on the right path to be eligible for a school like Stanford? And what can I do to help me even more?

Sat II: None taken yet.

(my ecs are weak. will it make a difference if i start doing more ecs for just jr + sr year? Or is it too late?)

I play 5 musical instruments recreationally, but do not participate in any orgainzed musical groups, will this matter?

1 year work experience.

Ther may be more, but this is just a general overview, any ideas?

Strangely enough, you will have a very difficult time getting into Stanford, despite your rank of 1/502.

First, your test score needs to be around 2150, and second you need to have at least some ECs that turn heads. Also, because of the way the applicant pool works at Stanford, only about 4% of their admitted class are Asian. Compare this with their cross-town rival UC Berkeley where 41% of the admitted class is Asian.

Your best chance is to play up your ability to play those 5 musical instruments, especially if you have any awards in musical performance. The other question is: Can you play basketball at a varsity or junior varsity level? If the answer is no, Stanford will be a tough go--although your odds still may be as high as 35% to 40%. Sorry I can't rate you a bit higher, but these are my best estimates.

I do wish you good luck with your application there however, as well as at the other schools you apply to.

I forgot to mention that your chances at UC Berkeley (which you didn't actually ask about) are "match". I estimate them at about 60%.

um, that's ridiculous.

Ethnic Diversity
African American: 10%
American Indian or Alaska Native: 2%
Asian American: 24%
International: 6%
Mexican American: 8%
Other Hispanic: 3%
White: 41%

not sure about the asian thing...but calcruzer is right with playing up your musical ecs...thats the only thing you may have that is out of the ordinary...no offense or anything...stanford is one hell of a crapshoot

Stanford has a lot of Asians compared to all US colleges except the UCs.

hey to be ranked 1/502---wow, idk how u azns do it, seriously, mad respek--but i just have a question what is "AP Spanish 4?" ive taken AP Spanish Lang and AP Spanish Lit, but never heard of that, is it like a combo of span 4 and AP
