"damn minorities" - love it.

encomium - we have discussed this, and your parents are simply odd people.

"damn minorities" - love it.

encomium - we have discussed this, and your parents are simply odd people.

I must be odd, too ;)

Though I think I have a valid point: how can Republicans be the strange ones if they are in the majority? Perhaps you're right, but then again, "odd" may be defined as "unlike ilcapo". If that's the case, we are probably quite odd.

the majority of america has not pursued a degree beyond high school. those voters cast their ballots 53-47 in favor of good ole george.

your majority is different than my majority, i guess. the only majority who voted for bush were the uneducated.

lol ilcapo. sadly i agree with u =P

that's not true

the stastics don't back that up

people who didn't have a high school education voted kerry
people who had some high school voted bush
people who had some college voted bush
people who had a college education voted bush
people who had post-graduatate degrees voted kerry

encomium - when you blend college degrees with post graduate degrees, kerry comes out on top.

thats from a survey. from what you can tell from hard factual evidence

states with better public education systems are liberal
states with higher SAT averages are liberal
states with a greater percetange of college grades are liberal
it is also true that....
states that have a greater diversity are liberal

who can refute that the northeast (MA, NY, NJ, CT) students there are smarter than those in AL, MS, LA, AR? the majority of them are cuz education is a higher priority.

i live in AZ....uber conversative where we rank 48th in education. majority of the people here dont have college education. most people here do not watch the news. i can personally tell u that on local news they didnt mention the 9/11 incident until 2 days afterwards. people didnt even know what the world trade center was. everyone out here is naive, ignorant, and live in their own huts....

but we also only have like a 40% of the voting population actually vote

the best fact is - all conservative states were slave/slave allowing states and territories
all liberal states were free states and territories

this isnt bashing anyone. i have many friends that are conservatives. i dont care if u are. these are just facts/coincidences

im also pretty liberal cuz i went to music camps in the south before...and possibly the most racist/immoral/unethical experience i have ever experienced. we had to shop for groceries for 16 of the african-american students at the camp cuz they wouldnt get service in NC (which isnt even that south). if u have ever met a true 100% hardcore conservative thats racist and wants white supremacy...its pretty scary

sounds like your parents are closet liberals actually enco...

the greatest difference is. in different regions of the united states liberals usually are liberal for similar reasons. however in different regions of the united states...conservatives are conservative for very different reasons. whether it is religion, wealth, or the great ole southern racist anti-minority reasons.

I'm Republican, and so are my parents.

I lean somewhat libertarian, but as that isn't really a viable affiliation.... and the fiscal issues of Republicanism appeal to me. And I feel my parents' taxes shouldn't be paying for all these useless programs. Let each pay their own way, in my opinion.

I love the political diversity on these boards - it definitely is much more interesting than all one party or another.

i'm with gracilsae...to my family it's all about the economic and national security issues....not the social issues

national security issues?

shouldn't that be INTERnational security issues?

oh wait, im sorry, you don't believe in the welfare of others.

sure mr. I don't believe in financial aid

hah no no, that is a mere joke.

i support financial aid, welfare, affirmative action, etc.

aww, that was a very un-ilcapo thing to say. :)

no i don't believe in the wasting away of tax dollars to people who inappropriately use them

seconded completely, ec, that is exactly how i feel

links arms with you red-rover style

I actually think that I'm selfish enough to become economically republican when I make lots of money. Taxes are painful =/

Zant: Oh come on you know you wanna be a Democrat with all that money

it's not selfish it's how the world works
