My college auditions for BFA Acting

<p>HI!
So I'm almost done with all of my college auditions! Only one more to go. I wanted to post how each of them went and see if anyone had any input...?
Here it goes!</p>

<p>First- NYU (this is my top choice) I was first on my list so I just stayed in the room when the auditor showed it to everyone. She already knew my name, asked me what my monologues were and let me begin. I went through both, comedic first, dramatic second. She never stopped me or had me go back or anything. Then we did the interview..
What passions do you have outside of theatre? Politics, (elaborated) Literature, specifically the Bible (elaborated)
Tell me about where you're from..(my mind still in politics) Uhm its very wealthy and subsequently very conservative and I can't wait to leave.
What do you want to see in your life in ten years? uhm, food? (Laughs) I hope I can eat, I have somewhere to live, a job, and I'm still in Theatre. It would be cool to star on Broadway but, I'd be happy with just that. Maybe some position of power, I have a company or a community theatre blah blah...I also want to join the peace corps
Where would you want to go? South Africa! I love animals. I'm not sure what my degree would contribute to peace but...I can be there to like...talk to people?
Have you thought of also what you would get out of that? Oh, yea, wow I guess that they have their own art culture and theatre "programs" (Why did I say programs...?)</p>

<p>Some problems with that interview, I should have spoke more positively of my home I guess, I shouldn't have giggled so much (but it's my dream school I was a bit excited) and again, WHY DID I SAY A COUNTRY HAD THEATRE PROGRAMS? Moving on..</p>

<p>American Musical and Dramatic Academy
I didn't like this school at all. The faculty was so cold and impersonal.
I did my first monologue and was cut off three sentences into my second and dismissed. Interview: Why AMDA? It has a good reputation, I know some alumni...Where do you see yourself in five years? Looking for a job, at home, considering grad school...Is your family supportive? Sometimes, depends on their moods.</p>

<p>Fordham
I loved them! Everyone was so nice!
Walked in..Hi how are you blah blah..
Them: are you from Baltimore..Yes!
School for the arts? no...the area yes..
Did my monologues, classical- Juliet: Gallop apace... then my contemporary
They didn't ask me to go to another panel. Does that mean I pretty much didn't get in?</p>

<p>Boston University
I went very last because I couldn't make my original app, my auditor was actually the guy I emailed about that haha
Walked in...announced my monos and that I had a classical one too
I did the first two no interruptions or work and he let me do my second
Interview: How are these three women different? Uhmmm....(bs answer, not completely, but the best I could come up with on the spot) How did you get started in theatre? Wow I don't even remember! I did one play, realized I was terrible which made me want to try more and do more to be better so I kept doing it....When do your braces come off? I answered him and we laughed about it...He asked me about my car troubles (reason I missed the app) and then he said "Please tell me you had other auditions in NY, you didn't just drive up for us" I said I had others. But I guess that means I didn't do good...? Like he wanted me to audition for other schools too? :(</p>

<p>Emerson
Again I liked the people
Walked in, did my mono, he had me do breathing exercises and other acting exercises then redo it. He asked me if I had questions, I said nope and he said thank you. That was it! haha but he was still very nice.</p>

<p>My last audition will be for Uarts at the end of the month.</p>
