Hello, I'm going to attend the University of Central Florida but they do not have chemical engineering as a major. I was wondering if its possible to major in mechanical or electrical engineering and minor in chemistry and the outcome be the same as a major in chemical engineering for a career standpoint. Also UCF is the college I'm going to be attending, no if and's or buts about it i love everything about it besides that they do not have that major lol.

Why did you apply there if they did not have your intended major? Did you only decide your major after you applied? You would have to call the school and ask them what you are asking here, possilby talk to someone in the engineering dept.

i talked to both the engineering department head and the chemistry department head and their answers were the same. “I’m not sure but it makes since that it would work” haha not that good of an answer. And I wanted to go their since i entered high school and me and my girlfriend have an apartment set up in orlando for us so its final, i was just hoping.

So do electrical engineering so you can be with your gf.
Or go to another college and major in ChemE.
You may change out of engineering all together.
You never know.
