<p>is 900 words too long for a college essay? i'm told it's a good essay, but is the length too long no matter what? also, since it's so long, should i choose not to submit the optional additional essay?</p>

<p>mine is 950 words long. it was originally two 1200 words essays, merged and curtailed. </p>

<p>Cause there is a character limit to how much you can type on the online version. </p>
<p>Shorten it as much as possible without taking away from your message. Mine was 800 words or so initially, but I shaved it down to about 450, just by rewording things, deleting redundant phrases, etc.</p>
