My college has no counseler....

Yeah it is a typical +2 oriented college not an alevel one . I know I am laking many things to know. What are the things I need to know befor giving standarized test and after the standarized test? Like college names … waiving for 10 colleges… . Most importantly step by step flowchart of app process . (Giving SAT in month and still confused on app process)

If you’re currently enrolled in a +2 school, you should definitely start by talking to your principal or coordinator (whoever can help you submit your school report). As for a list of colleges - make a good list depending on your expected contribution and grades. Have a look at other forums in this site to get an idea on the colleges that generally accepts Nepali students.

The standardized tests you’ll need to give are TOEFL, SAT, SAT subject tests (optional). You should look into the colleges that you’re gonna apply to before registering for the tests. Some colleges only require TOEFL, while others may require SAT as well as SAT subject tests. If you’re a science student, ACT would be a good option (but the test is only conducted once a year in Nepal).

The application process is quite simple; use commonapp.org and its like filling a couple of forms. The toughest parts of the application are the essay and supplementary writing sections. Try to be as original as possible, and write a coherent and thoughtful essay. Don’t compromise on English, it’s your biggest ally. Read a couple of books if you want to improve your English. Check out http://www.qianmu.org/u/lystu/school/file/0hme5mn180002vc/0hmlotdce00040a.pdf for good college essays that worked.

That’s basically all you need to know. Don’t fret over small issues such as filling the application, since they’re the simplest parts. Try to get good grades and standardized test scores. Good luck with your application process.
