My college process results! (Attending Swarthmore)

Hi everyone! I thought that since this site gave me so much advice during my college process, I would post my results and let everyone know how it turned out! I applied to 13 colleges. I had a 1470 SAT, a 33 ACT, and a (comparatively) low GPA at 95.62. My extracurriculars definitely gave me a boost as a runner and classical vocalist. (My other extracurriculars and stats are on my page.) Here are my results, and thank you to everyone who commented on my other posts!!!

Accepted:
Swarthmore (attending)
Haverford
Hamilton

Waitlisted:

@EllaNoble, congrats! Our runner DD was accepted/rejected from many of the same schools with a 34/35 ACT and similar UW GPA; she’s headed to Hamilton. Are you distance or a sprinter?

Distance! Congrats to your daughter! Hamilton is in my town; it’s an amazing school, and if it wasn’t so close to home I might have ended up attending!

What a terrific choice! Congratulations!

@EllaNoble, that’s so funny - it’s a great little village! Enjoy Swarthmore; my brother attended there - great school!

Thank you! I’m so thrilled to be attending

BTW, what’s events do you run? PR’s if you want to share.

Congrats! Now have fun.

I don’t mind sharing!

Congratulations – what a great outcome. Now go forth and make the most of your college years!

Thank you!

I’m actually interested in a lot of the same schools, so I’m curious what you’re planning on majoring in?

Hi! I’m hoping for a double major in history/music or biology/music. What about you, and where were you thinking of applying? @qwerty2019

Congratulations on your achievements and good luck at the excellent Swarthmore, @EllaNoble!

Thank you so much! @merc81

Are you able to join the track team as Swarthmore? How is the team? Good luck!

@EllaNoble My top choice is Cornell (probably won’t get in though haha). From the other ones you mentioned, I really like Colgate, Williams, and Vassar. I’m thinking of studying biology and/or environmental science and/or history and/or linguistics (I don’t really know at this point to be honest lol). From what I’ve seen online at least, I especially like the…vibe, I guess, that I get from Vassar but I haven’t seen many good things about their science department, I’ve heard they’re a lot more focused on humanities, but I guess that could be beneficial if I was a science major because I’d have smaller classes and more personal attention and opportunities?? I might end up as a humanities major anyway I don’t know I’m only a sophomore in high school so I guess I have some time to get myself together. Have fun at Swarthmore and congrats!!!

Congratulations! You had a wonderful outcome and should be very proud of your achievements.

@ellanoble Congrats from a Swattie 1989! My daughter will apply ED to Swarthmore next year, and she is also an exceptional singer who plans to double major (music and Astrophysics). Several of your schools are also on her list (Vassar, Colgate, Haverford, Kenyon). I’m wondering about your process with these schools in highlighting your musical skills. Did you upload a supplement? Audition? Meet with music faculty? Thanks!
