My Common App Essay is permanently LOCKED. HELP!!!

Is there any way they can unlock it for once? I swear I didn't update it 2 times. I don't know how it got permanently locked. I've worked on this essay for months. I've put my heart and soul in it. I'm breaking into pieces after knowing that I cannot update my common app essay.

Is there anyway this is possible?

I would try writing to them and calling tomorrow. Hopefully someone can figure it out and unlock it for you.

Just an option I’m considering if the common app doesn’t fix my problem…

I’m thinking of emailing each of the colleges where I’m applying a copy of my new essay. I’ll ask them to replace the essay which I sent them with the one which I am emailing them. Hopefully, most of them will agree. However, will this make the adcoms think less of me?

Don’t email them a new essay. They won’t want to waste their time. Just go with what you submitted at this point. You’ve had months to prepare these essays. Why the last minute changes?

@1203southview‌ Just got an email from Common App, they granted me an additional edit. Thank god! God is good. My life is saved.

@mnm111‌ First of all, stop being so negative.
College admission officers are really nice people and they want us to apply. I emailed Carleton College and they were more than happy to replace the essays.
I was working on this essay for months. I submitted it to my EA college and then continued working on it for more months.

@ssgupta‌ you’ve got serious issues regarding your essays and this entire application process. Just review your thread posting history here on CC. Here’s one of your most recent threads.

You have been acting erratically and inefficiently. In the last moment you want more changes and/or you want schools who receive tens of thousands of applications to make some special allowance for your last minute edits? Get a grip on yourself. They are on the common app and want to read the essay posted in the common app for their own convenience. A last minute emailed change makes you look like a poorly prepared self-indulgent applicant.
