My Complaint to the College Board (APUSH)

By structured I mean the questions were similar

I agree with amyyyy, the topics they put on the exam just surprised me a bit.

I thought the MC was extremely easy, easier than the SAT II U.S. History MC. I thought about 10 of the MC were applying more common sense and logic than facts. Only 1 or 2 questions really surprised, like “I never learned that this year”, but for those questions I applied past knowledge.

boy u is crasy. this was the easiest thing i’ve taken. i have taken old tests and this one was very similar.

I’m confused about what exact era you are all saying it focused on?

I took it too and I thought there was nothing especially peculiar. It tested a more limited amount of knowledge than I expected, sure, but I prepared very well. And if the issue was it was too easy, is that really a huge problem?

Can somebody just please man up, stop with this vague bs and actually say what you found special or different about the test. “They were structured the same way,” or they were from “one specific time period” does nothing for many people.

Look the CB is really not going to do anything and if you are scared just use a proxy or something so you are untraceable.

I took the test too and they always throw in some random people or facts that I admit I’m not too good at, but otherwise I felt it followed the same patterns as other practice tests.

Big deal. Smallest violin for you.

I guess you put all your study eggs in one basket :frowning: Boohoo.

Dude I am 100% sure the College Board reserves the right to change questions/formatting or whatever AS IT PLEASES. IT gives the test, IT can change it. And to be honest, I noticed nothing strange/different at all on this test and I am sure a lot of kids would agree that it was a fair and absolutely reasonable test. Perhaps it changed a little but it was not outside the normal range of variance and it was certainly far from unacceptable.

lol i so agree with this. there were so a bunch of questions that had to do with books, and then there was the question with the campbell’s soup… like ***.

there was hardly any war questions, like no supreme court cases…my teacher was shocked when she heard that teddy roosevelt was barely on there, if he was at all…

I’d have to agree with everything you just said! I printed out a 42 page study guide from online and studied for about 2 hours and only 1/3 of that material was on the test.

Note to everyone: I do accept that college board has the legal right to change its tests however it wants too. BUT, that doesn’t mean that it is right, nor does it mean that it is a positive change overall. This is just feedback…I’m not like picketing or anything.

alright guys…look at all the previous years of CC post-AP discussions and you’ll notice that everyone is like WTH! after all the tests…because like most CCer’s we overprepare extensively and are furious, which I was, on how much material was excluded from actual test that we studied so fervently for…so we take our anger out on CB by making WT F? posts lol .just my opinion

The older tests had more material.

I know where OP is coming from, but I don’t think it was as drastic a difference as some people are saying.

Last year’s AP exam was pretty bad. Questions were HEAVILY focused around early America (slavery and the such). <— The problem with this is that I had forgotten most of that part of history, b/c my class has just finished with Clinton.

I think they are also making it slightly easier…specially FRQ’s like bio and apush…because more and more kids are failing AP’s and CB wants to keep a score of 3 equal to getting 50% on test lol

I don’t understand why they don’t just do a comprehensive test.
If its because its harder to make up new questions…how? You have to make up new ones anyways, even on new subjects.

Ugh I hate that!
I do better on tests with realy low curves cause im the kind of guy that can do a lot but makes careless errors.

but i also agree test was complete BS anyway…i spent countless hours all year memorizing causes AND effects to every fkin war in USH and made timelines for each minority grp etc…and then actual test comes along and ya…lol

Oh my god Crash Course was my hero (finished and double checked MC in just 30 min) :D
