My credentials

whch is the reason I dod not apply to Middlesex.

it doesn't matter whether or not the school is elite, it matters if it's going to teach you something

I am applying to 2 schools and would really like to go to the less prestigious one

nns91, Peddie is hard to get in, one of the reason is because Peddie is in New Jersey. Not many boarding schools in New Jersey but so many Jersey parents want to send their kids to bcs.

no they don't

sheesh Roses, there's a way to disagree with someone without being so blunt :). It's a ridiculous argument anyway--how could anyone possibly prove whether or not New Jersey parents want to send their kids to boarding schools?

the only parents in nj who are really into sending their kids to bs either have connections or have their kids going to peck. Or their children are part of abc or nj seeds

that's pretty much it. nj is such a liberal state and the public schools are comparitively so good that barely anyone thinks to send their child to a private school. Many north and south jersey public schools are considered private school quality (millburn, madison, princeton, freehold township, chatham, etc)

I'm sure that less nj families send their children to private school (day or boarding) than connecticut families

and if someone decides to go to private school there is no reason to go to a borading school in state. nj days are better than nj boarding (except lawrenceville)

So Peddie can still be considered as on of some top schools ? I mean not the super top but still top ?

I understang that all of us shouldn't be so optimistic. When i posted my thread,
I was hoping that I'd be encouraged by optimistic comments. However, i became more nervous after I read some of your quite frank statements. None of us can be sure of the admission until we receive the official notification unless someone is very very outstanding. I appreciate all of your cool and honest opinions. I wish everybody a good luck for your admission.

By the way, are you asking for Financial Aid? It appears, from reading prior posts, Choate is kinda stingy when it comes to FA. There is certainly a lot less number of students on FA at Choate compared to similarly ranked schools.

No, I am not applying for FA.

Well, that's a big plus! I am sure you will do really well. Good luck :)

Even if we are not sure, I appreciate your positive comments.
