As a proud mom. I wanted to share some info about my amazing D. She was just an average student at a great school. Involved in a community service program and 2 other EC's in school. Only took 1 Honors class in her Jr yr. No AP's at all. Made hono roll 1 time in her SR year. Overall GPA was about 3.3 and her SAT scores were average-Reading 530 - Math 470 - Writing 620. TCNJ was her top choice school. She loved it the minute she stepped foot on their beautiful campus. Her 2nd choice school was Univ of Delaware and she was heartbroken when they denied her and thought for sure TCNJ would do so as well. She was accepted to Rutgers NB. The last school we heard from was TCNJ and yes she got in!!!! No doubt had she applied to their competitive Bio or teaching program, she might have been rejected, but her major is Sociology and we personally think that her GPA and community service helped along with the great recommendations from her 3 EC advisors. She is a senior now and I am so proud of her. Good Luck and REACH for the Stars. Proud Mom.

Nice job. Did she apply for ED this year?

Sorry, let me clarify. she is a current Senior at TCNJ and graduating next May with the Class of 2011 (we are extremely proud of her). I posted this to help the other average students that are applying to TCNJ as their reach school. TCNJ likes well rounded people and they are BIG on community service (which My D continued with at TCNJ). She told me that their BIO and Education program is the hardest to get into. And some students from her class knew this and applied with a different major and then changed their major to bio. Sort of a cheating way to get into their Bio program. But then again this was back in 07. I’m sure by now, they have figured this out. My D is currently applying to graduate schools. She did not apply ED to TCNJ. I wish you the best of luck with your future.

Thank you for the helpful info! i guess i’ll know if i get in soon!
