My daughter is now oficially a terp

Hi,

Well we went to the admitted student day this past Saturday hoping that UMD would be everything we remembered on our first visit and it was....lol My daughter accepted her offer today and she is officially a terp. I am so proud of her I could bust. She worked very hard to achieve this and the wait as well as the trials and tribulations that occurred prior to her acceptance make this so sweet. UMD was her first choice. FEAR THE TURTLE!!!!!!!!

Congratulations!!

Welcome to the Terp Family!

YAY!!!

That is awesome news. Now be sure to save the dates of Oct 11-13 for a visit during Family Weekend… ;)

Congrats!

My daughter did the same a couple days ago! She had 8 incredible schools to choose between and she chose to be a Terp! So excited!!

Welcome to Terp Nation!!! My son accepted his offer also. Congratulation!

Congratulations! I accepted my offer of admission today as well! :)

Hi miataman. I read one of your previous comments and I remember you wrote that the housing button did not show up on your portal before the decisions were released. I am just curious to know if that remained the case and if your daughter was admitted into her prefered Lep? I applied for the regular decision and I am really anxious right know.

Congrats back to you Yellowdog99…Kumbavu, my daughters notificatioon of acceptance was done ass backwards. everyone was receiving their acceptances while we were overlooked. We had to wait 24 hours after all the acceptaqnces went through before the office finally njotified us and the only reason they did was because of my constant nagging…lol…that being said, during the whole time of waiting, we never saw the housing notification on the portal.

My daughter is not in an LEP as she is unsure of her major. She is in letters and sciences. good luck to you

Did they explain why you were overlooked, was it because you applied after the deadline?

Congrats to everyone who committed recently. We went to Accepted Students Day on Friday and while I thought my daughter was going to get caught up in the excitement of the day, the exact opposite happened. She felt overwhelmed by the large campus & the chaotic nature of the day. I didn’t think UMD did a particularly good job of changing anything from when we attended a large informational session a year ago. Our housing tour was led by a staff member who had difficulty answering the most basic of questions. I’m so disappointed because I though we’d go down and have the day seal the deal for her.

Kumbavu, no they never explained why she wasn’t notified on time. it was a really tramatic experience as everyone on here was announcing their status and we had no idea what was going on. I had to call and get them to look into it. The person I spoke with was very apologetic and got us an answer that same day but as to why we were overlooked intially, who knows.

^ that must have been terrible. So sorry you had to experience that. Thankfully it all worked out! Congratulations!!

Proudmomx2…it was torturous…lol But it all worked out so i look at it as a charachter builder…lol Congrats on your daughter too.

Congrats to all of you, Official Terps and Terp Parents! I cannot stress enough how much you are going to LOVE MARYLAND!
Happy for all you, Best of Luck!
