@tpike12 Does your daughter have any friends interested in engineering? A small group of 2 or 3 kids would be manageable for a firm and make the visit more fun (and less intimidating) for your daughter.

So far, so good. DD was accepted to her safeties Pitt, Penn St, Temple and Alabama.
Waiting with low expectations on her reaches. She’s really happy that she has those early acceptances and low cost options.

My son is going through this now and has similar stats, although he is certain he wants to be an engineer and has done academic engineering camps at NC State and Michigan. The only true engineering focused school he applied to was Ga. Tech. I think Georgia Tech only has 20 something majors so there are not a lot of options if you decide you want to change your focus. One thing to keep in mind though is almost always the engineering school is astronomically harder to get into than the main college. For example, last year Virginia Techs acceptance rate overall was over 50 percent but engineering was around 20.
