My Dilemna

Hi, I'm a Business major and I applied to UC's and I've heard back. However, I also applied to Santa Clara University for their Business school, and it's one of my top choices.

The deadline to submit a UC's SIR is June 1st...but since the application deadline for SCU was really late (April 15th), the site said decisions will be coming out in early June.

My plan is to accept my second choice (a UC), and if I get into Santa Clara later on in June, I'll just decline the UC's SIR. But, I don't know if this is possible? :( help?

I have the same problem with a bunch of colleges, but anyway from my understanding you totally can. The thing is you normally have to pay a couple hundred bucks or so when submitting the SIR, so if your willing to lose that then you should be fine. Considering the possibility of losing the acceptance, I’d pay the cash just to be safe.

It’s possible. My oldest brother accepted UC Berkeley’s SIR, but then retracted it after he got into UPenn. You just lose you deposit from the SIR (like $100?), so it shouldn’t be a big problem.

yea, my friend did that out of high school, sent SIR to irvine and then completely ignored them and went to cc
