UMich does offer at least a couple hundreds of decent amount scholarships from $5000 to $20000 per year, plus 15 or so near full tuition to full ride scholarships every year to their 6000 or so enrolled freshmen from both in state and out of state. It is highly competitive as you need to be the top of the top. In general, you need ACT 35 or above with GPA 4.0 (or not significantly below) plus some other factors in order to get one. How does your credential compare to these. Note that even not all ACT35+/GPA4.0 receive merit scholarships there as they simply have too many students like that (21% freshmen with last year with GPA 4.0).
