My dream

My dream school is American University in Washington DC

Some people will say that it is fairly easy to get into for a good student, others will say that it is VERY competitive (slim chance)

So, I'm just wondering my chances.. Basically, I want to learn to accept the fact that I won't be able to get in if in fact, it is true. So please be completely honest!

Here's my info:

GPA: 3.6

ACT: 27 (32 - Reading, 31 - English, 25 - Math, 20 - Science (oops!))

Extracurriculars:

President of National Honor Society (member for 2 years)
Vice President of Class (VP for 3 years)
Secretary of Future Business Leaders of America (member for 4 years)
Community Youth Foundation (member for 4 years)
Senior Mentor (1 year)

American University has also said that a "very important" factor is the level of the applicants interest, so I've sent them an e-mail, stating my interest (and asking a question so it didn't seem random :P). Also, I've visited the Campus, which I was sure to mention since I live in Ohio (these things may not mean anything, but who knows?)

If you want to, I also would like to know my chances for the following schools (which I am applying to):

Miami University (OH)
Boston University
The University of Dayton
George Washington University

THANKS :)

So I’d say you have a very good chance of getting into American are good. GPA is good for their range, extracurriculars are great, ACT’s could be a bit higher, but still OK, and they’ll see that science dragged your composite score down. I think you’ll get into Miami and Dayton no problem, GW and BU you have similar chances with American. But it all depends on your essays. If your essay is only OK, it’ll be harder to get into the ones you really want to go to. But a kick-ass essay will get you into all 5 of these schools. Best of luck!!

Thank you! Your comment makes me feel hopeful
And I’ll definitely be sure to work extremely hard on my essay!

Anyone else?!
