My Driving Learner's Permit Expired.....

does anyone know if I need to retest or can I just somehow renew it?

it probably depends on the state you're in, and whether it was a regular permit or a drivers ed permit...

Why don't you, well get your license !!?

I'm assuming from your info that you have a New York permit. This is what the NY DMV website says:

[quote]
You can renew a learner permit only if you passed the written test during the previous two years. This requirement means that you cannot renew a learner permit that was issued more than two years ago. If you passed the written test more than two years ago, you must apply for a new learner permit and pass a new vision test and a new written test.

If you are eligible to renew your learner permit, you can renew your the permit no more than 30 days before the permit expires, or no more than two years after the date you passed the written test for your original permit. You must renew by mail or at a DMV office. You cannot renew a learner permit on-line.

If your permit isn't from New York, you should check the website of (or call) the DMV for the state in which it was issued.

it's too late now, if the permit expired...

Most likely, you'll have to retake it.

Same thing happened to me, I was ****ed off beyond belief.

Thanks for the info guys! I'm actually from Pennsylvania.

California-Bolt, did you have to bring all your newly updated info?

I don't want to schedule another appointment to the doctor's office and get physicals.

I think I just had to bring the papers that proved that I took drivers training classes.

k thanks! i'll check with them on monday..

I was too busy with school and other things to actually take time to learn to drive... shame, i know..
