So I am finalizing my common app, and I am wondering if I should include certain things in my activites section. I know admissions officers look for a focus and passion, and I definitly display a passion in community service/leadership (I am the President of 2 service organizaions/clubs and the VP of another). In terms of sports, the focus is aquatic sports (Varsity swimming, club simming and water polo). So I am trying to come across as well rounded, but at the same time, passionate about specific things etc.

However, I have some peripheral things as well - mangaing editor of newspaper, on my city's library teen adivsory board, volunteer work, a couple academic councils at my school. I obviously list the most important things like my service board leadership and swimming at the top of my Activities list, but do you think these other seemingly "random" activites (which I list at the bottom) will detract from my application? Do they convey a lack of focus? Or are these sort of things just normal and convey a well-rounded student?
