So I’ve been really concerned with my ECs for college recently. I don’t know if my ECs are good enough for the colleges I want to go to. Here are the things that I do now…
Some Clubs at school (Math Club, etc…)
Track (Winter and Summer)
Volunteering (I have fairly good amount of hours)
These are the things I’ve been committed to since I was Freshman, now I’m a sophomore, going to be Junior next year… These ECs are not enough right…?
If anyone has suggestion please help me!
I think it’s a good start for freshmen year! I’m also a sophomore.
My extracurriculars:
Student Congress (ran for treasurer on board but lost)
Key Club
NHS (next year if I get in)
Unified Sports (help disabled kids play sports)
Tennis
Golf
This summer I am attending a leadership camp for my student congress and I am going to be a counselor at a camp for kids with muscular dystrophy.
What colleges are you interested in?
oh my god thats so many!! @pbmcdoug what is student congress?? and this summer, i think I’m going to continue with my hospital volunteering do you think thats good enough?
Student Congress is essentially student government. We organize homecoming, pep assemblies, community service etc. Yeah! I think what you’re doing is good, but I’m only a sophomore too so I don’t know for sure! What colleges are you looking at?
As a rising senior, I would recommend you try to pursue something you’re really interested in that shows off leadership and merit. If you’re interested in science, maybe try your hand at scientific research or one of those mentoring competitions where you work with a faculty member. Right now, your ECs are a bit plain but I mean…mine were too at that time!
