my ED Chances for Wharton?

19 year old, Asian male from Indonesia, studying on scholarship in one of the top junior colleges in Singapore(high school equivalent here I guess, the school's used to rank 3rd out of 20, don't know about this year)

SAT I score: CR700/M780/W600 (not so stellar i know, planning to retake in december)

SAT II score: Maths II, Physics, Chemistry don't know the score yet but i'm pretty confident that it would be in the 780-800 range for all 3

Taking A-Level exams end of this year, so no grades yet but here's the breakdown of the courses I took and what I get in the final year plus predicted grades

Mathematics: A (top 10%), predicted grade: A
Physics: A (top 4%), predicted grade: A
Chemistry: A (top 8%), predicted grade: A
Economics: C (dont know my percentile), predicted grade: A
General Paper (something like social studies i think): B (top 5%), predicted grade A
Modern Physics: Distinction (ranked 3rd out of 40 ppl who took it)
Project Work: B
Foreign Language: B
Overall I should be on the 95th percentile in terms of results.

Curriculum Rigour: pretty rigorous I guess, I used up all my credits so I can't take anymore subjects

ECs: Photography Club chairman (won 3rd place in interschool competition), Harmonica Band member (performed for school concerts, charity performances and got gold award for youth festival central judging), performed for Chingay procession (some big annual parade held in Singapore), Multimedia Club member (silver award for interschool web design competition), Maths Olympiad senior category bronze medalist, won 1st place for engineering quiz,

Community service: volunteered to tutor for maths in school, participated in several donation drives, participated in community service camp like "30 Hour Famine" organized by world vision. 85 hours in total for 2 years.

Work experience: sadly none. cant get work permit if we are on scholarship.

Recommendations: should be good

Personal Essay: not too sure, still in progress but I have alot of teachers to help me.

Not applying for financial aid

So how's my verdict? anything about the application I should be be aware of as an international applicant? Any comment would be appreciated :)

hmm anyone? :(

maybe i’ll elaborate more on the point system they use here. i got 85 out of 90 for final year exam (highest possible), for A-levels, the school predicts an 88/90 for me. So translating that into GPA terms maybe (85/90)*4 = 3.78 out of 4.0?

asking about chances is the stupidest thing ever, OK? everyone told me that I wont get into Penn with a 380 SAT verbal score and a very low high school gpa, as a transfer student. I got in. And I was one of the first people to get accepted to Penn, I know some who waited more than a month after I got my acceptance to get their decisions. So please stop with this childish posts, u r better than half the students I’ve seen at Wharton, and u r from Indonesia, do u know how much easier it is for u to get accepted. people from countries like Saudi Arabia, Zimbabwe etc get accepted IMMEDIATELY. So instead of posting stupid chances threads spend ur time on something that can actually help u get into Penn.

Your English sounds very good - try to boost that W score and rest sounds pretty good. Note that admissions is not 'need blind" for foreign students so how will you pay?

Percy Skivins: Hmm suppose that I am deferred for ED, if I send my december SAT I scores assuming that it will be better than my current score will the adcom consider that in 2nd round? Yes, I do plan to pay myself because my parents believe that paying for a good education is a worthwhile investment, so they are okay with it I guess. But as far as possible, If I do get accepted, I will try to apply for a local scholarship to fund my education and lessen the financial burden on my parents ;)

RejectedFromMIT: I understand that the admission process is much more complex than what can be evaluated from a chances thread like this and on retrospect, I agree with you that I should place more emphasis on writing my essays/getting recs/etc. However, aside from the obvious purpose of satiating my fussy mind, I honestly want an assessment of my credentials, however rudimentary it is, to gain a better idea on my standing as a foreigner. It is somewhat difficult for me to evaluate myself due to different educational background you see, and thus any help on that area would be very much appreciated as it helps me in application for other universities too. Nevertheless, I thank you for replying :)

one last bump! a few unanswered qns

i’m not an expert…but nineteen, still in high school? what’s the history? they’ll notice, you know…

this is because I secured a scholarship to study in Singapore after finishing junior high in Indonesia (equivalent to grade 7,8,9), then had to wait 6 months before studying in Singapore while the scholarship organization had me and other scholars study a prep course in that period, then repeat grade 9 which is part of the scholarship requirement because the O-level course starts at grade 9 and there’s alot of new subjects to be learned. So yes, I am now 19. But do I have to elaborate on that for my application?
